The Standard EN353-‐1 has been withdrawn Since the test standard EN353-‐1 does no longer fulfill the demands of the directive 89/686/EEG the standard has now been withdrawn for revision. The reason is that the test standard did not cover every thinkable scenario and there has been some incidents and accidents (not Cresto products though). Read more>>

Two strong brands become one – Cresto
Two strong fall protection brands, Cresto and ResQ, are merging into one – Cresto. Starting in April, the Danish ResQ and Cresto products and range will be marketed under one single name – Cresto. This merger will strengthen Cresto’s position as the most important fall protection player in the Nordic region.

Cresto to invest in roadracing World Championships
Through team Cresto Guide Racing, racing rider Alexander Lundh has been given the chance, as sole Swedish competitor, to participate in the 2010 roadracing World Championships in Supersport 600-class. Cresto Guide Racing is an entirely Swedish team, sponsored by Cresto and Guide, both of which are companies in the Skydda group. The class is decided through 13 qualifying rounds across four continents with the premiere in Australia on 28th February.

New Sales and Marketing Manager at Cresto
We're happy to welcome Patrik Malterling to Cresto. Patrik will be starting his job as Sales and Marketing Manager on 1st December 2009. Patrik comes to us from Miller by Sperian where he was Product Manager.

Launch of the new Cresto
In order to improve and hone our fall protection segment within the Skydda Group, we are consolidating the three brands of Axel, Cresto, ResQ.
A translation list between the old and new assortment can be found here to ease the transition for previous customers.

Newly-developed anatomical fall protection
Cresto is launching a completely new fall protection series. A big improvement is the newly-developed ergonomic back plate Ergo Plus, which is featured as part of the Cresto 1132 fall protection harness. It has an anatomical design to suit the shape of the pelvis, which provides better support for the back, and greater mobility. Just as before it is a part of the develop-ment efforts aimed at f nding the simplest, best and smartest solutions. Snap-locks for simplicity, mesh-fabric in the upholstery provides comfort and keeps the harness in position. The D-ring at the back is f xed; the loops are secured for ease of f xation. The entire harness has been given a new, modern look, making it even more attractive...

News for offshore windpower safety
Cresto launches a revolutionary innovation for safety in the offshore windpower sector - OSCAR™. OSCAR™ is an arrester block that is aff xed to offshore windpower plants to secure persons from the gangplank up to the platform on the rotary wing platform. The background being that extreme risks are involved when working on offshore windpower plants. Normally workers are completely unsecured before reaching the platform. Means of access are slippery due to algae and mussels, it can be windy, the can be heavy seas and torrential rain. In order to be safe at precisely that moment, the OSCAR™ fall arrester is now available, which is aff xed at the top of the tower. The patented device is designed to withstand these extremes of nature. The arrester is completely unique featuring a watertight and corrosion-resistant design.
